Shinssi Hwaro Korean BBQ Restaurant located on Healeys Lane is a new Korean Restaurant near the corner of King Street and Lonsdale Street.

 

Shinssi is a spin off from the Korean BBQ Restaurant in Box Hill and Carnegie. The owners were the first in Melbourne to introduce Korean BBQ to Melbourne in 2002.

 

Shinssi features a chic, simple decor and offers Korean BBQ out doors where customers can enjoy warm evening weather drinking and eating Korean Food.



During the day Shinssi offers affordable set menus ranging from Stone Bowl Rice, Bulgogi on Sizzling hot plate, soups and various noodle dishes.

After 5pm Shinssi transforms to is a typical "gogijip" or Korean barbeque restaurant where family or friends enjoy charcoal grilled meat with rice, side dishes and various stews and noodles.

 

The menu includes various meat dishes, from barbeques and grills to "naengmyeon" (cold buckwheat noodles) and stews. Various types "bulgogi" marinated "galbi" (beef barbeque) cost between $14 and $17. The meats are prepared raw and cooked on the spot over a tabletop griller.




For the big eaters there is charcoal buffet offered for $35.50 which includes all you can eat meats, side dishes and dessert.

 

After 10pm Shinssi offers additional pre-cooked dishes on the menu to cater for customers who want a late night drink of soju (traditional rice wine) or enjoy a beer. Being the first restaurant to bring Korean tap beer from the Korea it is a popular place for Korean who want to enjoy Korean Tap beer.

 

The restaurant is open 1am every day of the week.
